Twelve Stones - Lesson 10 - Prayer
Joshua 4:21-22, ‘…When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones? Then ye shall let your children know…’The Lord has taken us from captivity and allowed us to enter His Promised Land.
We have been in turn handed the awesome responsibility of walking differently
of loving differently and teaching differently.
Have we forgotten where we came from?
Have we forgotten where we are going?
Let’s not forget our foundation and let’s certainly not forget
to pass the torch to the next generation.
Entreaty, appeal, plea, request, desire, hope and wish.
Romans 8:26-27, ‘Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.’
James 4:3, ‘Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.’
Matthew 26:41, ‘Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.’
Luke 18:1, ‘And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;’
1Thesalonians 5:17, ‘Pray without ceasing.’
Matthew 7:7, ‘Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:’
Philippians 4:6, ‘Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.’
John 14:14, ‘If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.’
John 15:7, ‘If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.’
Psalm 66:18, ‘If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:’
1Peter 3:7, ‘Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.’
Psalm 34:17, ‘The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.’
