A Sign Among Us - Conclusion

'And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.' Galatians 6:9

Galileo said, 'You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself.' I can tell you what to do. I can't make you do anything. I can't even motivate you. I do however hope I encourage you. I also hope I have challenged you and reminded you what the Lord promises us.

It Is Tiring

We wrestle in the morning with ourselves. We fight on the road as we travel to work. We struggle at work. We clash with our loved ones and we brawl with our friends.

We go to bed with the same 'to-do' list we woke up with. We lie in bed at night and remember... We forgot to tell our wives how thankful we are for them. We forgot to tell our sons how proud we are of them. We forgot to tell our daughters how special they are. Are we going to wake up differently tomorrow? It is up to us.

Tomorrow Is Going To Be Different

I'm going to wake up a half hour early. I'm going to eat right. I'm going to call that friend I was meaning to call. '... let us not be weary in well doing...' Are we tired from all our well doing? Or are we exhausted for something else?

Are we too busy doing the urgent things that we are neglecting the important things?

It does get tiring. I remember driving in the car with my wife and she screamed, 'I'm not going on like this any more. I want to leave...' I slammed on the brakes and turned around. I was tired; I did not want to fight. '... for in due season we shall reap...'

Remember this, anything worth having is worth fighting for. If it wasn't so precious... If God didn't have an awesome plan for it... It wouldn't be attacked.

Due Season

How long? How long do I have to fight? How long do I have to struggle at my career before I get that breakthrough? How long do I have to keep working like this before I get a raise? How long do I have to live in this house? How long do I have to drive this car?

When He says it's time. He also says we shall reap. Not we might reap. We shall reap. We will reap. He promises us that, as long as we don't faint. As long as we do not relax. As long as we do not give up. As long as we do not quit.

But For How Long?

'But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.' Isaiah 40:31

Do you trust the Lord? Do you truly trust Him? Are you waiting on the Lord? 'But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength...' Sounds like a promise, that our strength will be renewed. '... they shall mount up with wings as eagles...' Sounds like another promise. '... they shall run, and not be weary...' Once again, another promise, but we need to make sure we are running. '... and they shall walk, and not faint...' As long as we are walking, as long as we are moving forward, as long as we are closer to the goal when our head hits the pillow, as it was when we woke up. He says we will not faint.

'And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.' Luke 9:62

Where Are Your Eyes Focused?

Are you still fighting with yourself over something you did yesterday? Are you fighting with yourself about something you didn't do yesterday? What did you promise someone you would do for them? What did you promise your wife you would do for her? What did you promise the Lord you would do for Him?

He has given us some promises. Do we take them for granted? When we pray at night for forgiveness and then fall asleep... Do we then wake up and start fighting with ourselves?

The Lord wants us to be free of the chains we put on ourselves. The Lord wants us to renew our strength by waiting on Him. The Lord does not want us to be tired. He does not want us to be weary. He does not want us to look back.

He wants us to trust in Him daily. He wants us to keep doing good. He has an awesome plan for us.
